Anbesol Adult Strength Gel - 10g works by numbing the affected area to provide temporary pain relief. It contains lidocaine hydrochloride 2.0%w/w, Chlorocresol 0.1%w/w and cetylpyridinium chloride 0.02%w/w, as well as alcohol, clove oil, glycerol, hydroxypropyl cellulose, sodium saccharin, Ponceau 4R (E124) and purified water.
