Benadryl Allergy Children's 1mg/ml Oral Solution works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms. The recommended dose is one 2.5ml spoonful in the morning and one 2.5ml spoonful in the evening for children aged 2-6, one 5ml spoonful in the morning and one 5ml spoonful in the evening for children aged 6-12, and two 5ml spoonfuls to be swallowed once a day for children aged 12 and over.
